Shuck Cancer: Battle of the Bivalves at Camaraderie
Houston chefs go head-to-head in an oyster shucking competition benefiting the American Cancer Society. Held at Camaraderie, 608 West 11th, guests can watch the action while enjoying $1 oysters, half-off martinis and bubbles and $3 New Magnolia beers. Admission is $10 per person, and the standing-room-only event runs from 5 to 8 p.m.

National Oyster Day at Caracol
Caracol, 2200 Post Oak, celebrates National Oyster Day with all-day happy hour pricing on Gulf oysters, including wood-roasted oysters with chipotle butter, cheese and breadcrumbs for $15 per half-dozen or $30 per dozen, plus raw oysters on the half shell for $12 per half-dozen or $24 per dozen.

IPA Day at Karbach Brewing Co.
Karbach marks IPA Day with a Texas beer and barbecue experience featuring a pit-smoked whole hog BBQ plate with sides, a behind-the-scenes brewery tour with Karbach’s brewmaster and a tasting of day-fresh Hopadillo Texas IPA. Tickets are $21 and include a pint of Hopadillo.

Houston Restaurant Weeks
It’s back, y’all. Citywide dining event Houston Restaurant Weeks runs now through Labor Day, September 7 with prix fixe menus benefiting the Houston Food Bank. This year’s lineup features brunch and lunch options starting at $25 and dinner menus ranging from $39 to $59 at restaurants across the city. Since launching in 2003, HRW has raised $18.8 million for the food bank, providing the equivalent of 56.4 million meals for Houstonians facing food insecurity.
Pappas Restaurant Weeks
Pappas Restaurants launches its inaugural Restaurant Weeks with prix fixe menus across its lineup of concepts, including Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Pappasito’s Cantina and Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. A portion of proceeds from participating menus will benefit local food banks, including the Houston Food Bank.
National Delicatessen Month at Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen
Kenny & Ziggy’s, 1743 Post Oak, celebrates the 11th annual National Delicatessen Month with a three-course prix fixe menu benefiting Holocaust Museum Houston. The $48 lunch and dinner menu features classic deli favorites, with 10 percent of each meal sold donated to the museum’s education programs.
