Choosing my favorite commercial Halloween snacks was pure pleasure. Compiling a similar Top Five for the Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus season was fun but pretty darn overwhelming. Nearly every brand offers a holiday shape/color/flavor for its products and testing even a majority of them would be a full-time job...THAT I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE. Anyway, back to reality. Here are five noteworthy holiday-themed foods that deserve a place in your cabinet.
5. Sugar Cookie Pop-Tarts. I promise I did not choose this product simply because of my "limited edition" fetish. I generally consider Pop-Tarts to be nasty, dehydrated poor excuses for pastry. But there's something about the sugar cookie dough filling and the "retro" holiday images emblazoned on the vanilla icing that makes me feel all warm inside. Even if I didn't toast them.
4. Snowflake Ritz Crackers. Okay, so these taste no different from regular Ritz crackers. But regular Ritz crackers taste awesome! And snowflakes are pretty. For just under three bucks (at most stores), you have a crunchy, buttery, and most importantly, decorative base for Easy Cheese.
3. Jones Candy Cane Soda. Every year Jones releases a four-pack of special holiday flavors. This year's bunch also includes Gingerbread, Sugar Plum, and Pear Tree, all of which are interesting, to say the least. The Candy Cane, however, is minty fresh, crisp, and sort of reminds of me birch beer.

2.Pepperidge Farm Ginger Family Cookie Collection. "Agrarian" is the last word I would use to describe my ideal lifestyle, but I would give up condos and strips malls for barns and fields if I could live on Pepperidge Farm. The ginger family cookies, which comprise a roly-poly father, an apron-ed mom, and two seemingly conjoined children, are ridiculously cute as well as tasty.
1. Bigelow Eggnogg'n Tea. Celebrating the 12 days of Christmas with a nightly cup of eggnog might contribute to a 12-pound weight gain. Bigelow's tea offers the spice and flavor of nog in the form of a slightly sweetened green tea. And you can even still add bourbon.
