Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille celebrates National Pork Chop Day on Thursday, August 27 with a four-course, dine-in menu for $44, available from 4 p.m. to close. Guests can enjoy Pork Chop “Bites,” White Bean Pork Chili, a lunch-cut Perry’s Famous Pork Chop and Pork Mac & Cheese. A $99 takeout bundle with two pork chops, Pork Chop “Bites” and Texas Sausage is also available through August 31.

On Saturday, August 29, Lyric Market, 411 Smith, hosts a free ¡Adiós Summer Fiesta, from 2 to 6 p.m. with complimentary Hornitos tequila tastings, $8 margaritas, Palomas and Ranch Waters, $6 Mexican Candy Shots and $5 Hornitos shots. The afternoon also includes live mariachi, Lotería with prizes and local food vendors, plus free chips and guacamole with a meal purchase from Mexology.

Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 2000 Lyons, hosts its 16th annual Feast of Saint Arnold on Sunday, August 30, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and dinner starting at 5:45 p.m. The $150 ticket includes a family-style, multi-course dinner and beer, with this year’s menu tracing Houston’s culinary history through dishes including chili-braised short ribs, smoked duck breast, smoked bone-in pork loin and flounder pinwheel. Proceeds benefit Texas Children’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center.

Shipley Do-Nuts celebrates its 90th anniversary with the new Birthday Bullseye, a sprinkle-filled donut topped with strawberry icing, plus a limited-time 1936 Shipley Favorites Box with classic flavors. Anniversary offers run through October 18, including the Duo Deal, 90-cent glazed donuts and bonus loyalty points.

Dandelion Cafe celebrates its 10th anniversary at its original Bellaire location, 5405 Bellaire, on Saturday, August 29, with scratch-off prizes including 10 $100 gift cards, free single scoops from Cosmic Ice Cream, face painting and balloon animals. The first ten guests receive a free anniversary T-shirt. Anniversary-week specials include $10 mimosa pitchers all week and $10 chicken and waffles available Monday through Friday.

Throughout August, Truluck’s is offering a $15 mystery glass of white wine. Guests who correctly identify the exact wine get the glass free, with pours ranging from Sauvignon Blanc and Sancerre to Chardonnay and other sommelier-selected bottles.

Tickets are now on sale for the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America, returning to Houston on Thursday, November 12 at Thompson Hotel, 1717 Allen Parkway. The walk-around tasting starts at 7 p.m. with bites and drinks from more than 10 food and beverage stations, including chefs Evelyn Garcia and Henry Lu of JūN, Aaron Bludorn, Tristen Epps-Long and Suu Khin. Tickets start at $175, with Premier tickets at $225 and early entry at 6 p.m.
