Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille celebrates National Pork Chop Day on Thursday, August 27 with a four-course, dine-in menu for $44, available from 4 p.m. to close. Guests can enjoy Pork Chop “Bites,” White Bean Pork Chili, a lunch-cut Perry’s Famous Pork Chop and Pork Mac & Cheese. A $99 takeout bundle with two pork chops, Pork Chop “Bites” and Texas Sausage is also available through August 31.
On Saturday, August 29, Lyric Market, 411 Smith, hosts a free ¡Adiós Summer Fiesta, from 2 to 6 p.m. with complimentary Hornitos tequila tastings, $8 margaritas, Palomas and Ranch Waters, $6 Mexican Candy Shots and $5 Hornitos shots. Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 2000 Lyons, hosts its 16th annual Feast of Saint Arnold on Sunday, August 30, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and dinner starting at 5:45 p.m. The $150 ticket includes a family-style, multi-course dinner and beer, with this year’s menu tracing Houston’s culinary history through dishes including chili-braised short ribs, smoked duck breast, smoked bone-in pork loin and flounder pinwheel. Proceeds benefit Texas Children’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center.

Tickets are now on sale for the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America, returning to Houston on Thursday, November 12 at Thompson Hotel, 1717 Allen Parkway. The walk-around tasting starts at 7 p.m. with bites and drinks from more than 10 food and beverage stations, including chefs Evelyn Garcia and Henry Lu of JūN, Aaron Bludorn, Tristen Epps-Long and Suu Khin. Tickets start at $175, with Premier tickets at $225 and early entry at 6 p.m.
