Now through Monday, September 28, Yuma, 4219 Washington, is teaming up with former Ninja Ramen owner Chris Huang and Tokyo X for the Ninja Dip, a French dip-style sandwich featuring Huang’s pork chashu, Yuma’s house-baked Cuban bread, nori aioli, tamari-marinated hearts of palm and green onion. It comes with thickened ramen broth for dipping, and a limited number of guests will receive a complimentary one-day pass to Tokyo X, taking place September 26–27 at Reliant Center. The collaboration wraps with Yuma’s karaoke night on Monday.
Le Colonial, 4444 Westheimer, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a week of special dining and entertainment offerings now through September 30. A limited-time menu will revisit signature dishes including Chạo Tôm, Nộm Đồ Biển, Bò Xào Satế, Gà Nướng Xả and a mango sticky rice sundae, while the upstairs lounge will bring back the Red Lotus and LC Gin & Tonic and host DJs Thursday through Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight. A traditional lion and dragon dance will take place Saturday, September 26, at 5:30 p.m.
Rodeo Goat, 2105 Dallas, brings back its “BIG TEX Burger” for the State Fair of Texas, featuring an all-beef patty, chicken-fried mashed potato cake, bacon, fried onion ring and chorizo gravy. It goes up against the “Honey Bacon Blue,” an all-beef patty stuffed with blue cheese butter and topped with honey bacon bits, fried kale and curry mayo, in the Battle of the Burgers through October 18. The seasonal lineup also includes Pumpkin Spice Goat Balls, deep-fried cheesecake-filled balls coated in pumpkin spice and served with mascarpone dip.
Fiora’s Bottle Shop, 888 Westheimer, is teaming up with Krua Thai and Altima Caviar on Saturday, September 26, for a wine collaboration dinner featuring curated wine pairings, Thai-inspired dishes and caviar. Tickets are $125 per guest for the one-night-only dinner.
From Saturday, October 3 through Thursday, November 5, Toro Toro, 1300 Lamar, will mark Día de los Muertos with special a la carte dishes including Luz de Mar Tiradito, Fuego del Sol Short Rib and Amanecer Pumpkin Brulée. A five-course private culinary experience centered on El Sol will also be available for groups of up to eight, with reservations required at $180 per person.
On Sunday, October 4, Jane & the Lion Bakehouse, 4721 North Main, will transform into Jane’s Dine Inn to host a multi-course, family-style dinner celebrating the Texas autumn harvest, with a 5:30 p.m. reception and dinner at 6 p.m. The $120 ticket includes gratuity and the dinner, with optional wine pairings for $60 or non-alcoholic pairings for $40. The 26-seat dinner will feature seasonal ingredients including pears, apples, squash, mushrooms, rosemary, sweet potatoes and pecans.
