Pizaro’s Pizza and Saint Arnold Brewing Company are teaming up for a limited-time pizza collaboration from August 13 through 31. The Zesty Asparagus & Prosciutto pizza features dough made with Saint Arnold’s biscuit barley malt, fresh lemon, mozzarella, asparagus, lemon cream sauce, feta and prosciutto. The 16-inch pie is $24 at both Pizaro’s locations, while Saint Arnold will offer a 12-inch version for $18 from August 17 through 31.
The 12th annual OkraFest, dubbed “Garden Galactica,” takes over the Historic Galveston Water & Electric Light Community Center, 715 30th, in Galveston, on Saturday, August 15, benefiting Groundswell. The evening features a hyper-local dinner made with ingredients from Galveston-area farmers and makers, plus craft cocktails, beer, live music and a VIP oyster bar with Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster Bar. VIP hour runs from 6 to 7 p.m. with general admission beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $125.
National Rum Day gets a four-day celebration at Ouisie’s Table, 3939 San Felipe, from Sunday, August 16 through Wednesday, August 19. The $75 three-course menu includes Tropical Ceviche with SelvaRey White Rum, Mojo-Marinated Pork Tenderloin with Diplomatico Plana and Flan de Ron paired with SelvaRey Chocolate Dark Rum. The menu is available all day for dine-in only, with dishes and rum pairings also available à la carte.
