The Root to Leaf Dinner at Underbelly, 1100 Westheimer, is coming up on Monday, June 29 at 7 p.m. The multi-course feast โ hosted in honor of Chef Steven Satterfieldโs cookbook, Root to Leaf โ features dishes inspired by recipes in Satterfieldโs cookbook, which celebrates seasonal produce and Southern cuisine. On Wednesday, July 1, the summer series Sundown at the Grove returns to Discovery Greenโs The Grove,ย 1611 Lamar. JCI Grillโs final Funky Dog, created by chef Randy Evans, will debut at all 20 James Coney Island locations on Wednesday, July 1. The Greek-inspired โOpa Dogโ features a locally-produced lamb sausage from Black Hill Meats served in a toasted onion bun with lettuce, cucumber, red onion, tomato and Kalamata olives, all topped with Feta cheese and Tzatziki sauce. The Funky Dog, which would have made Helen kiss off Troy and stay in Greece, sells for $5.29.
