Japan Festival Houston returns to Hermann Park with Japanese food vendors, live music, dance, martial arts demonstrations and cultural activities. Food options include ramen, takoyaki, yakitori, dumplings, sandos, okonomiyaki, sweets and more, with sake tastings also available for guests 21 and older. Admission is free, with food, merchandise and select activities available for purchase.

All three Lankford’s locations will be offering 50 percent off breakfast plates this weekend. Brunch runs Saturday and Sunday, with hours varying by location: Midtown is open 7 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday, while The Woodlands and Bellaire serve brunch from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. both days.

Field & Tides hosts a sake-pairing dinner on Saturday featuring three chef-crafted bites matched with Japanese sake, including a pimento cheese fritter with sparkling junmai, a mini lobster grilled cheese with junmai ginjo and chili-marinated shrimp with a cheesy herbed grit cake and tokubetsu junmai. Tickets are $15 and include all three pairings. The cocktail-style event has limited seating, with walk-ins welcome while supplies last.
