Beto O’Rourke abortion rights rally at Discovery Green on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Houston, TX.

Approximately 5,000 people came out on a very hot day Saturday to attend the Beto O’Rourke campaign and abortion rights rally at Houston's Discovery Green. Those in attendance were protesting the expected decision from the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade. Texas is among the states that will immediately ban abortion if this happens. O'Rourke is running for governor against incumbent Greg Abbott who has led the effort to do away with abortion in Texas even in the cases of rape or incest.
