Mayor Turner Joins Houston Rapper Trae Tha Truth to Reveal the Say Their Name Memorial at Emancipation Park
A crowd gathered at Houston's Emancipation Park in the early evening Monday for the reveal of the "Say Their Name Memorial." The installation displays names of individuals who lost their lives to police brutality, systemic racism, and social injustice. Creators Joy and Elise Proctor started the memorial in Portland, Oregon on Junteenth 2020 and have since added memorials in more than 25 cities.
