Aspiring playwrights from all over the country send their babies to Theatre Southwest in hopes of watching them grow into full-fledged productions. See the five chosen this year in the 11th Annual Festival of Originals. Each play runs about 20 minutes, and they cover lots of theatrical territory. Theres drama in Holding on to Rose, a story about a man who sees his dead wife wherever he turns, and theres laughs in Simply Stunning, a comedic, contemporary take on the Tupperware party, with women buying Tasers instead of plasticware. A Thirties Affair features a couple who share a mutual love of old movies, and The Comity of Eros and Cafe Deux Parfaits both look at relationships. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and 3 p.m. Sunday, August 3.
