East End Live Art: Is This Change?

Ask yourself: Are things really different yet?

Count on Voices Breaking Boundaries to stir the pot a little. While everyone’s still buzzing about Obama’s election, VVB presents East End Live Art: Is This Change?, a program of poets, artists and writers (and you, if you get up on the open mike) discussing today’s community issues. Participating artists include poet/playwright Donna Garrett, spoken word artist Marcell Murphy (a founding member of Houston Poetry Slam), novelist Sehba Sarwar and activist/street intervention specialist Marlon Lizama. 5 p.m. Café Flores, 6606 Lawndale. For information, call 713-524-7821 or visit www.vbbarts.org. Free.
