I Hate Hamlet

Web exclusive!

Things aren’t exactly what they seem in the stage comedy I Hate Hamlet. Everyone thinks Andrew Rally has a perfect life — he’s rich and famous. He has a glamorous girlfriend and a great career as the lead in a television series. To top it off, he has the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park, a prestigious artistic coup. But in reality, his girlfriend won’t consummate their relationship, his television series just got cancelled, and Andrew has no interest in playing Hamlet. That last bit makes things a little awkward when John Barrymore’s ghost shows up — drunk — determined that Andrew take the role. Even the prince of Denmark didn’t have it so bad. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Through March 28. Playhouse 1960, 6814 Grant Road. For information, call 281-58-STAGE or visit www.playhouse1960.com. $13 to $15.

Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: March 6. Continues through March 28, 2009
