Playwright Greg Kotis is known for mixing dark comedy with socially relevant themes. That was certainly the case with Kotis's most famous work, Urinetown the Musical. And it's the case with Pig Farm, currently being mounted by Black Box Productions. Pig Farm examines the idea of corporate farming by following Tom, a dedicated pig farmer who resents the government for intruding into his business; his wife Tina, who resents Tom for not getting her pregnant; and their worker Tim, who's on release from juvenile hall and resents Tom for making him count all 15,000 pigs on the farm. Think of this as smart slapstick. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. February 14, 7:30 p.m. February 18. Through February 20. Country Playhouse, 12802 Queensbury. For information, call 713-467-4497 or visit www.countryplayhouse.org. $12 to $17.
