Play On

What do you do if your playwright is a pompous ass who keeps rewriting your script? Well, if you’re the theater troupe in Play On!, you try to outwit her at every turn possible. The stage comedy by Rick Abbot has three acts: rehearsal, dress rehearsal and opening night. Each performance is more disastrous than the last, and how the troupe manages to limp through to the final curtain is a mystery. But wait, the fun’s not over yet. The playwright interrupts the curtain call to pontificate on the state of modern theater. Where’s a rotten tomato when you need one? 8:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays. Through March 24. Theatre Suburbia, 4106 Way Out West Dr. For information, call 713-682-3525 or visit www.countryplayhouse.org. $12 to $14.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Feb. 24. Continues through March 24, 2012
