The workshop will consist of a supply pickup, a hands-on presentation, and a Q&A session with Galveston Bay Foundation staff. We will discuss water conservation tools like Water My Yard, the environmental benefits of reducing freshwater usage and collecting rainwater, as well as proper rain barrel preparation, installation instructions, and tips. This month, join former resident artist Molly Koehn and volunteers to create beautifully patterned handkerchiefs with simple resist techniques and indigo dye, one of the oldest plant-based dyes. Inspired by our current exhibition, Fiber in 3D: Indigo Houston, participants will experiment with various folding and tying techniques to create intricate patterns. After each piece is dipped into a dye vat and wrung out, get ready to be surprised! The indigo will oxidize as the handkerchief unfolds, turning the cloth from green to a deep blue and revealing the unique patterns you have created. 7135294848

Audubon will go “owl” out in a celebration of home design during The Hoot & Home Spring Tour, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4.
