The Warehouse Live Thanksgiving Bash will get rock and rap fans more juiced up than a turkey baster. Headlining the night is Fat Tony, a.k.a. Anthony Obi, half of the local hip-hop group The Low Ends, who stays true to the slowed styles of Houston but beats them up enough to keep heads bobbinย and booties shakinย. Taking cues from the likes of Kanye West, Fat Tony pairs samples of soul classics and danceable beats with lyrics that find a balance between mind and money. His lyrics arenยt weighed down with too many heavy thoughts, but he isnยt tipping the other side of the scale with bling and bitches, either. Fat Tony, along with Nosaprise and his De La Soul-esque sounds, should please the hip-hop heads without turning off the indie rock crowd there to see Television Skies, Otenki and D.E.M.O.
