New York Fashion Week is winding down and, while many fans are getting the latest news and updates on Style.com, the majority of us have been following the shows via Instagram. The best of the runway, backstage, parties, and celeb sightings can be found on the media sharing site via editors, designers and bloggers. I found out about the streaker at Prabal Gurung on Instagram before any media outlets reported it. (Pic below for your entertainment.)
Most Instagram celebs are based in New York and LA, but Houston has a growing crop of Instagram aficionados as well. They range from style bloggers, to designers, to writers, and regular fashionable people sharing their fashionable lives. Here is a list of 12 must follow Instagram accounts manned by stylish Houstonians. (Narrowing it down to 12 was incredibly difficult, so let me know if a followup is in order.)
@david_tipping Founder of lifestyle brand and store The Tipping Point, David Rodriguez shares images from his retail life and the creative arts projects he's involved in around Houston.
@classnfab Monica Abney has to be one of the most stylish women in Houston and her profile proves it. Expect pics from parties, designer appearances and the best restaurants in the city.
@cabby_james If you haven't heard of The Classroom in Rice Village, I'm not sure where you have been living. Cabby is one of the founders of the buzzed about men's boutique and shares the behind the scenes.
@surisays Dentist and jewelry designer Layla Asgari posts great pics of fashion and food. She is new mom, so look for stylish items for the mini me in your life too.
@heatherstaible Former member of the fashion media turned PR Rep for Elaine Turner Designs, Heather Staible shares the day to day life of a PR maven.
@nweakly Image consultant and Great Day Houston fashion expert Natalie Weakly shares friends, family and Houston love through her pics.
