You and your sweetie can enjoy a yummo meal and snuggle in the dark while watching a romantic comedy when Alamo Drafthouse screens Shakespeare in Love for Valentineยs Day. The 1998 release follows a fictionalized Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes), who is suffering from writerยs block and looking for a new muse. He finds one in the beautiful Viola (Gwyneth Paltrow), a young woman set to marry someone else. Of course, Viola is more than just a pretty face ย sheยs also a great actress, something thatยs forbidden in Shakespeareยs time. Not one to let tradition stand in her way, Viola dresses up like a man and wins the role of Romeo in Shakespeareยs production of Romeo and Ethyl the Pirateยs Daughter (an early version of Romeo and Juliet). Things get a little complicated from there; thereยs a bit about the Queen of England (Dame Judi Dench), some backstage bickering and lots of lip-locking before everything gets happily sorted out.
