Jet mechanic-turned-comedian Alonzo Bodden just canย’t understand the process of buying new bedding. ย“Now I know how women feel when they talk to car mechanics,ย” Bodden says in stand-up routines about shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond. ย“You have that kind of vague sense youย’re being ripped off.ย” The tall and calm-voiced Last Comic Standing Season 3 champion, who has now graduated to judging the show, is full of insightful observations about his own discomfort. He says heย’s often out of place, for example, on USO tours, which have taken him from Israel (where girls love him, ย“but it might be because I told them I was in the NBAย”) to Greenland (ย“First thing you gotta do in Greenland is tag the other black guy and say you gotta leaveย”).

Hanging out with NASCAR fans in the Midwest produced Boddenย’s greatest insight yet: ย“I didnย’t understand NASCAR, but you talk to a couple of NASCAR fans, and you see how a shiny car driving in a circle would fascinate them all day.ย” 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
