Tabloids, teen wizards and television ads: These are three things that the Brits routinely do better than the Americans. Case in point: the famed Cadbury Dairy Milk ad with gorilla playing the drums to Phil Collinss In the Air Tonight (we havent figured out the relevance, either), which went viral and has about 3 million views on YouTube. Its just one of the ads that was honored at the most recent British Television Advertising Awards, screening today at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Other winners youll see include Sonys colorful Play-doh rabbits and Skodas delectable ad about a car made out of cake, icing and candy. (Tagline: The new Fabia. Full of lovely stuff.) Innovative and smart, these ads were almost always better than the television they interrupted. Think of it this way: Its like the Super Bowl, without all that football. 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 1001 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-639-7515 or visit www.mfah.org. $6 to $7.
