The inaugural Cirque du SoGay (the title kinda gives it away, doesnย’t it?) at Numbers Nightclub features Kings N Things, the drag kings of Austin, and Chelsea Luna, of the local puppet theater troupe Bobbindoctrin, whoย’ll present her puppet play Sealuย’s Shadow, which, according to the puppeteer/playwright, ย“concerns itself with drag, gender/queer quantum physics and fire-dancing.ย” Rounding out the evening, the Houston Gendermyn, the areaย’s premiere gender-bending performers, have promised balloon animals, ย“unicorn ridesย” and ย“queer juggling.ย” To find out how ย“queer jugglingย” differs from, uh, heterosexual juggling, youย’ll have to show up and see for yourself at 9 p.m. 300 West-heimer.
