"Daily Dance"

Expect to see the unexpected in the art exhibit ”Daily Dance.” Artists from around the world — Belgian Hélène Jeudy, German Maike Hemmers, Ecuadorian Maureen Gubia and Argentinians Mara Caffarone and María Mantella — contribute cutting-edge work for the show. The exhibit is curated by artist Sebastian Forray and is made up of drawings and other works by artists who show their work on Flickr. Forray considers the Web site to be an online global gallery of sorts.

There’s no unifying theme to the show other than Forray’s love for finding artists on Flickr, but among standouts are sure to be Jeudy’s black-and-white drawings. They typically include fantastical creatures, such as a man with a bull’s head or a four-armed man with a long snout and sagging breasts, and surrealistic, other-world settings. Mara Caffarone’s work is more colorful, with abstract shapes covering the paper.
