Uptown Dance Company Artistic Director Beth Gulledge-Brown might have a touch of ADD. We say ยmightย because the companyยs upcoming dance concert Dance Infusion is about as wildly varied as it can get. ยYes, we do like to have a big variety,ย laughs Gulledge-Brown. Thereยs jazz, swing, hip-hop, modern-infused dance, classical ballet and contemporary ballet (thatยs ยballet thatยs not classicalย according to Uptown Dance Company Board President Mary McKenna). Choreographers Alex Arizpe, Keith Cross, Brent Smith and Cecilia Marta have each contributed a piece. Nine professional dancers, including Cross and Gulledge-Brown, and 12 pre-professional dancers are sharing the stage during the program. Catch the kinetic variety at 3 p.m. Zilkha Hall, Hobby Center, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-315-2525 or visit www.thehobbycenter.org. $22 to $42.
