Aimee Small directs Country Playhouse’s production of the poignant David Lindsay-Abaire comedy Kimberly Akimbo. Suffering from a rare disease that causes her to age rapidly, Kimberly is a teenager with the body of an old woman. Faced with the certainty of her impending death, Kimberly tries to live as normal a life as she can. That’s not easy with a hypochondriac mom, an alcoholic dad and a scamming aunt. Add to the mix a teenage boy who just might give Kimberly her first kiss, and Kimberly’s life is anything but normal.
