Pandora Theatre mounts its first production in the newly remodeled Frenetic Theater with a pair of James McLureยs one-act plays. First, thereยs Lonestar, which is set in the 1970s on a hot summer night in Maynard, Texas. Brawny Vietnam vet Roy and his brother Ray are passing the time drinking in the backyard. Roy, it seems, loves his wife, his car and his country (not necessarily in that order). Before the nightยs over, Roy finds out his brother made love to his wife and wrecked his car while he was in Vietnam. (Three guesses which of those Roy is most upset about.) Next is Laundry & Bourbon, a comedy that starts with Royยs wife Elizabeth and her best friend happily laughing and drinking on the back porch. But their lazy afternoon is ruined when a sour-faced gossip comes by, determined to tell Elizabeth that Roy is seeing another woman. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Through April 18. 5102 Navigation.
