Lebanese musician Marcel Khalifé has landed in jail for some of his performances. Known for interpreting the nationalistic and sometimes controversial poetry of the late Mahmoud Darwish, Khalifé includes the Darwish-penned “I Am Joseph, O Father” in his repertoire. The song landed Khalifé in trouble with the law three times due to claims that the tune insults religious values with the inclusion of a passage from the Quran. Today Marcel Khalifé and Al-Mayadine Ensemble, a traditional Arabic group, present “Fall of the Moon: An Homage to Mahmoud Darwish,” a musical tribute to the Arab Spring. 8 p.m. Jones Hall, 615 Louisiana.
