The Landing Theatre Company presents the fourth annual New American Voices Play Reading Series, a weekend of onstage readings. “We had almost 400 submissions,” said Troy Loftin, literary associate for LTC. This year’s winners include California-based playwright Jake Arky’s My Friend Dahmer, based on a graphic novel of the same name about the notorious serial killer. Troy Scheid directed My Friend Dahmer, which will be read at 7 p.m. on March 13.

Massachusetts-based playwright James McLindon snags his second win with the Civil War-era piece Ebenezer Creek. McLindon also wrote Good, a 2012 winner. Cheramie Hopper directed Ebenezer Creek, which will be read at 1 p.m. March 14.

Indiana-based David Alan Brown’s Lily’s Blue is based in part on a prose novel about a man in the process of death. The story spans an 18-month period and focuses on the emotional highs and lows of life after death. Lily’s Blue was directed by Jacey Little and is being read at 7 p.m. March 14.

The fourth winner is Pennsylvania-based writer Catherine Rush’s The Me Generation. “It’s set in an all-girls school,” Loftin said. “The faculty suspects two students of having a lesbian relationship.” Paige Kiliany directs The Me Generation, to be read at 3 p.m. March 15.
