Three artists have mined the past to create something distinctly modern for space125galleryยs ยOld Is New.ย Anthony Thompson Shumateยs Shell Final uses the age-old art of stained glass to show a Shell Oil sign towering over trees. Catherine Colangeloยs paintings mimic the look of illustrations on medieval manuscripts; in one untitled piece, four large circles intersect, creating a mishmash of turquoise, gold, red, gray and black. Robbie Austinยs Golden Bliss, made with reassembled yearbooks, depicts the silhouette of a hand-holding couple standing atop a rainbow and a green heart, among other doodles.
