What can be more fun than getting a little tipsy and then playing with knives? Well, thatยs not exactly whatยs going to happen at todayยs Reserve Champagne Tasting, but close enough. First, wine expert Dominique Moran will lead a tasting of five Champagne Louis Roederer wines. (Roederer is a family-owned French winery thatยs been around since 1776 ย yep, you read that right: 1776.) Youยll be one of the lucky few to taste Blanc de Blancs 2002 (only 400 cases were imported to the U.S.) and one of the first to taste the just released Brut Rosรฉ 2003. After everyoneยs had a few sips (okay, maybe more than just a few), Moran will demonstrate sabrage, the art of opening a champagne bottle with a saber. See, tipsiness and knives ย pretty cool. 7 to 9 p.m. Vino 100 Royal Oaks Village, 11694 Westheimer. For information, call 281-759-4100 or visit www.vino100houston.net. $40.
