Alley Theatre company members James Black, Chris Hutchison, John Tyson and Todd Waite, along with Broadway’s Declan Mooney make up the cast of The Seafarer. This devilish new play by Conor McPherson, set in a coastal town near Dublin. It’s Christmas Eve, and four friends are playing a game of cards when a fifth man joins them. It’s Mr. Lockhart (played by Waite), the devil in disguise, come to play for one of the men’s souls. As the cards are shuffled, so are destinies. Each of the friends is hard-nosed and hard-drinking, but Mr. Lockhart might be too good for even them to outplay.
