The Jewish Community Centers Dance Month performance series welcomes companies from around the nation and the world, but todays Triple Focus concert gives the stage to three prominent local companies: Hope Stone Dance, NobleMotion and HIStory. Each company focuses on diversity, both in dance style and influences.
Hope Stone Dance Artistic Director Jane Weiner says her company will hot-glue together two older works as well as premiere a work-in-progress, which she calls the start of a new journey for me about war, peace and freedom what makes a country right and a country wrong. New-to-town NobleMotion crafts dance that is emotionally daring and honest, according to its press materials. And HIStory, a hyper-athletic, all-male dance crew, will add breakdancing-infused motion to the mix. 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Kaplan Theatre, 5601 South Braeswood. For information, call 713-729-3200 or visit www.jcchouston.org. $22.
