Primarily an artist, Ward Sanders also has a degree in biology. He exhibits his curiosity for both the artistic and the physical in ยRules of Order.ย The show is a collection of old, wooden boxes that are compartmentalized to hold scientific tools and other objects. These works, as his press release says, ยsymbolize access to the unknownย in two ways. When you open the lid, one unknown ย what was in the box ย is exposed. The objects found inside could be used to explore other unknowns ย syringes and lenses conjure up thoughts of scientific exploration, while objects such as dice and watches hint at other methods of getting to the bottom of things. See what else Sanders boxed up, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Hooks-Epstein Galleries, 2631 Colquitt. Through January 5, 2008.
