They certainly dressed the part. Clad in cowboy hats, shorts and flip-flops, members of the cast of Urban Cowboy the musical, which opens at Miller Outdoor Theatre tomorrow, stopped by the Houston Museum of Natural Science Wednesday morning to have a gander at some Texas treasures. On hand were the famous cannon and “Come and Take It” flag from the Battle of Gonzales, an original Bowie knife, clothes worn by General Santa Anna and native American artifacts.
The largely Texan group was joined by director Roy Hamlin and Aaron Latham, the Western nightlife journalist who wrote the book for the musical. Latham jokingly asked where the mechanical bull was.
