Virtual A Celebration of Reading 2020: A Vision of Literacy for All

The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation will air the 26th annual A Celebration of Reading 2020: A Vision of Literacy for All on Saturday, October 17 at 7 p.m. on KPRC-TV Channel 2. The new 2020 lineup features New York Times bestselling authors including American historian, twice-named Pulitzer Prize finalist and author of The Zealot and the Emancipator, H.W. Brands; Kathy Reichs, forensic anthropologist and crime-writer of the popular Bones series, including her latest book, Conspiracy of Bones; legal thriller John Grisham, author of more than 40 books, of which his newest, A Time for Mercy, will release in this month; international bestseller Kevin Kwan, author of Crazy Rich Asians and most recently Sex and Vanity; and Jean Becker, former Chief of Staff for President George H.W. Bush and ghost writer of the recently released book Pearls of Wisdom about First Lady Barbara Bush. In addition to an exceptional lineup of presenting authors, many notable names will also take the screen, including Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. Special appearances will also be made by bestselling authors T.D. Jakes, Jeff Kinney, Brad Meltzer, and James Patterson. In addition, Grammy Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Lee Greenwood, America’s Got Talent finalist comedian Preacher Lawson, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Mary Griffin, the Texas Southern University Choir and the Houston Children’s Chorus will provide entertainment.
