According to several Twitter updates including by Bun B, two members of Houston rap crew Assholes by Nature, Dinky D and Poppa C, were shot and killed outside the Diamond Club on Westpark around 3 a.m. Wednesday. One other person was killed and two wounded, Channel 13 reported.
ABN founder Trae tha Truth, above left, was among those hit in the gunfire, but is recovering after surgery for a gunshot wound to the shoulder, says keepittrill.com. He had reportedly performed at a Juneteenth concert at nearby Club Blue after shooting a new video earlier in the day.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene at the former Scores Cabaret at 9850 Westpark Dr. ABC reported that more than 100 people were in the Diamond parking lot after the shooting. One witness said her sister had been shot, and another that more than 20 gunshots had been fired.
Police told Channel 13 they had no suspects, but one investigator said the shooting may have been related to the death of Money Clip D, another ABN member described as Trae's "right-hand man," who was shot and killed in the parking lot of the after-hours club Breakers on Bissonnet in the early morning of November 25.
