“Libbie Masterson: Still: A Study of Texas in the Evening”

Photographer Libbie Masterson, recently named one of the top ten photographers in Houston on Art Attack, the Houston Press arts blog, showcases work from her series of nighttime images of Big Bend National Park in “Still: A Study of Texas in the Evening.” Masterson had previously focused on massive ice scenes, but began her “Still” series after winning an Individual Artists Grant from the Houston Arts Alliance. The images seen in “Still” also differ from her previous work in that these photographs vary more in size. Masterson previously told us, “Some of the images will be quite large and some quite small, as I experience Texas to be a large and also a familiar kind of place.”

The exhibition is part of FotoFest. There’s an artist talk and reception at noon on February 6. Regular viewing hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Through March 26. Lone Star College-Kingwood, 20000 Kingwood Drive. For information, call 281-312-1534 or visit lonestar.edu. Free.
Mondays-Thursdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Jan. 22. Continues through March 26, 2014
