A Houston Rap-Related Shooting Timeline

Houston Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting that killed three people and wounded two others, including rapper Trae Tha Truth, outside the Diamond Club cabaret on Westpark Dr. early in the morning of June 20.

Feanyichi E. Uvukansi, 24, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and is charged with capital murder, HPD spokesman Kese Smith said. KHOU reported that Uvukansi has a history of multiple drug and assault charges and is being held without bond.

Police are still looking for additional suspects, Smith added. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers (713-222-TIPS) or the HPD Homicide division (713-308-3600).

Trae, 31, was shot in the parking lot of Club Diamond, formerly Scores Cabaret, after he had performed a Juneteenth party earlier in the evening. He had reportedly just signed an autograph for one of the victims, 30-year-old Erica Dotson, when the gunfire broke out.

Also killed were two members of Trae's Assholes by Nature entourage, Coy "Poppa C" Thompson, 23, and Carlos "Dinky D" Dorsey, 32. Willie Watkins, 37, was also shot and taken to Ben Taub Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Trae sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was taken to Southwest Memorial Hermann hospital and released later that day. He is now in London on tour with J. Cole, and told Rocks Off's Shea Serrano he still plans to hold his free annual Trae Day concert at King's Flea Market later this month, promising "big special guests."
