re:HAB Bar on the Bayou

This friendly bar located on the banks of Little White Oak Bayou, a few minutes drive from Downtown or the Heights, features a large backyard with picnic tables, a big court for playing washers and a fire pit. A current project at Re:HAB is an old VW Beetle outside that is being transformed into a barbecue pit; inside there are several interesting works from a local artist. Live music is performed here weekly and there is never a cover; the bands appreciate tips. The Mitch Jacobs Band, Texas Johnny Boy and blues legend Milton Hopkins – who played with B.B. King and other greats – play here on a regular basis. Friendly owner Grace Miller from Glasgow, Scotland has lived in Houston for 20 years and calls Houston the “best city in America”; Re:HAB's equally friendly patrons will make you a believer if you are not one already.
