Zabak's Mediterranean Café is a spotless little walk-up service
restaurant with marble floors and fewer than 20 tables. If you have visitors who
are craving falafel sandwiches, this is the place to take them.
Zabak's falafels are the best in the city. Crunchy on the outside and
bright green and spicy hot on the inside, these chickpea patties make
awesome sandwiches. The restaurant is run by the children of George
Zabak, who made the falafel famous in Houston at a now-shuttered
restaurant called Mama's Po'Boys.
