League City celebrates its 50th birthday with a brand-new weekend festival dedicated to the sounds of the Gulf Coast. Friday’s zydeco night pumps, with Step Rideau & the Zydeco Outlaws and a Tex-Mex twist from Houston’s Nick Gaitan & the Umbrella Man. Rockabilly cats the Octanes open Saturday before hours of R&B from locals Luther & the Healers, Louisiana-style piano queen Marcia Ball and steely guitar great Jimmie Vaughan and the Tilt-a-Whirl Band featuring Lou Ann Barton. Sunday, Big Easy sax hero Grady Gaines & the Texas Upsetters Jump, Jive & Wail before the Rockpango brothers of Los Lonely Boys close out with some 80-proof Texican rock and roll. A weekend pass is $20.
