โ€œNope, nope, nope Iโ€™m not falling for the trap,โ€ Kash Doll said laughing as she looked back at her dancers. Standing in the center of a full-sized Barbie set the Detroit MC paused as the crowd cheered in anticipation.

โ€œThereโ€™s too much negativity online and on Instagram. Y’all just need to love yourselves.โ€

The voice of Summer Walker blasted through the speakers at Warehouse Live as Kash Doll performed their 2022 duet ending it with โ€œShe needs to love herself!โ€ to the audienceโ€™s cheers.

Kash Dollโ€™s The Last Doll, promoting her sophomore album of the same name, stopped by in Houston Sunday night for its second date. The Last Doll alludes to her feelings about other rappers that have taken on the โ€œdollโ€ moniker after her. Recently she appeared on Shannon Sharpeโ€™s podcast and talked about having to compete with those that began calling themselves โ€œdollโ€ early on in her career and hasbrought it up on stage during the tour. The chatter online that followed escalated quickly with Asian Doll threatening violence. While Kash Doll responded online, Sunday night she pushed any talk of another doll aside and focused on her catalog.

Back by two dancers, the MC ran through her staples like โ€œRun Me My Money,โ€ โ€œCheck,โ€ โ€œHere I Goโ€ and โ€œRich Hustleโ€ as the crowd chanted and lyrics.

Kash Doll, born Arkeisha Antoinette Knight, is the embodiment of hustle and confidence. Raised in Detroit, she learned early on that success wouldnโ€™t come easy, especially for a female rapper in a male-dominated industry. Before her breakthrough, she worked multiple jobsโ€”including as a dancerโ€”not just to survive, but to fund her music career independently. That relentless work ethic became the foundation of her success.

Her first taste of viral fame came with “Run Me My Money” and “For Everybody,” tracks that showcased her sharp delivery and ability to command attention with storytelling and swagger. She followed up with collaborations that put her on a larger stage, linking with artists like Teyana Taylor, Iggy Azalea, and Meek Mill. But it was her 2019 debut album, Stacked, that cemented her as a force in hip-hop. The project, featuring standout tracks like “Ice Me Out” and “Ready Set” with Big Sean, proved that she could balance street energy with mainstream appeal.

That energy is apparent during her shows as she gets the crowd to follow with her through call and response. The work is paying off as she recently had a big announcement about her catalog which she celebrated Sunday night.

โ€œI just want to say if you love yourself nobody can treat you less than. And no one treats me less than. I got some good news today. Ice Me Out went platinum today. So Ice Me Out Houston!โ€

The walls rattled as the bass line from her 2018 breakout single filled the room. Beyond music, Kash Doll has expanded into acting, landing a high-profile role in the Starz hit BMF. While BMF exposed her to a wider audience, sheโ€™s never lost sight of her first love: music.ย  Now, with her latest tour in full swing, Kash Doll is back on stage, proving that her presence isnโ€™t just about hit recordsโ€”itโ€™s about an experience.
