YZ and Special Ed are staples of the Yo! MTV Raps generation. In the early ’90s both artists could be heard banging out of trunks and beaming from our cable boxes on a daily basis. YZ’s “Thinking of a Master Plan” and Special Ed’s “I’m the Magnificent” are rightly regarded as hip-hop classics, and to this day each can get a club full of B-boys and girls all crunked up. To see the two together live in 2002 is somewhat of a coup, as neither has been heard from in quite some time. Expect ten years of pent-up dopeness to blow the roof off the Engine Room. Local Bobbie Fine, an explosive performer in his own right, is best known for his mid-’90s work with Blaque Spurm. He helped rev up the current Houston underground hip-hop revolution.
