Houston police are reporting little information about several slayings over the past week. Witnesses appear to be scarce; suspects even more so.
Early Sunday morning, police say, a 17-year-old was shot to death in the parking lot of a nightclub at 7136 Clarewood. The teen arrived at the club at about 3:30 a.m. just as the club was closing for the night when he got into an argument with a group of men, police say. At one point, someone pulled out a gun and shot the teen several times. The shooter and his companions then fled the parking lot in a gold four-door car, possibly a Chevy Impala. The only description of the suspects that police have is that they are Hispanic.
The night before, another man was shot to death, this time while he was
sitting in his car outside an apartment complex at 3402 Blalock. Police
say that at about 2:30 a.m. an unknown man walked up to the victim’s
car with a gun drown and the two men began to argue and struggle over
the weapon. Suddenly, the gun went off. The victim was hit and fell to
the ground. Police say the shooter and an accomplice fled in a
four-door black or navy Chrysler. However, they later returned to the
parking lot, shot the victim once more and then left the area for good.
Police are also investigating the death of a man Wednesday morning at an apartment building located at 8655 Pitner. Witnesses reportedly told police that they heard the victim, whose name has not been released, arguing in his home at about 1 a.m. with a group of men, who then left the apartment. Police say that several hours later neighbors heard gunshots. The victim’s body was found later that morning by a resident who was leaving for work.
