A Katy man helped a dealer swindle a Lake Charles casino out of more than $250,000, Louisiana law enforcement officials say.
Charbel Tannous, 33, worked in tandem with dealer Derrick Weldon, 42, to bilk the L'Auberge du Lac Casino Resort in Lake Charles, they say.
Weldon was arrested on site May 12, according to reports, but Tannous managed to leave the casino and get away.
Until yesterday, that is, he "was pulled from an outgoing international flight in Houston, Texas, just prior to takeoff."
Ooooh: So close.
Details on how they scammed the casino are few, but Weldon has been charged with cheating and swindling over $1,500 ($257,200) as well as conspiracy to commit cheating and swindling.
Tannous faces charges of cheating and swindling over $1,500 ($143,800) as well as conspiracy to commit cheating and swindling.
