A shootout in a southwest side apartment complex left one person dead Sunday afternoon, police say.
Kareem Kentriell James, 31, was shot in his apartment comples in the 5400 block of Birdwood about 2:30 p.m. Sunday and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say he was involved in a shootout with an unknown suspect, described only as a black male, who fled with a Hispanic female and another black male in a gray Ford F-150 pickup.
