Harris Fire Department investigators are still working to find the cause of a five-alarm fire that decimated a Montrose apartment complex Tuesday.
With 70 units and nearly 200 people responding to the scene at West Dallas and Marconi, it was one of the largest fire campaigns in the last decade, HFD Senior Captain Ruy Lozano said Wednesday morning.
Lozano called the Department’s swift, aggressive response “one of our finest moments.”
He said that firefighters’ goal, after making sure everyone in the area was safe, was preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding property — a difficult task given strong winds and a large surface area.
We’ll keep you posted on the investigation.
