Horrible news from northwest Harris County, where a troubled mother killed her two young children and then turned a gun on herself, the sheriff’s office says.
Rebekah Dawn Sanders is in the hospital in serious condition, HCSO says, and the two kids have been identified as Gabriel Nathan Sanders, three, and Gabrielle Yvonne Woods, five.
Sanders has a Facebook page, and some recent entries are revealing in hindsight.
Update: The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says Sanders has died:
On Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 6:03 p.m., Rebekah Sanders was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Sanders was being treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, which she sustained on August 9, 2011. Autopsy results are still pending on Sanders’ two children whose bodies were found lying in the bed with her, at their residence, on August 9, 2011.
