Twenty-two chefs battled, but there could be only one 2018 Truffle Master. This week, chef Austin Simmons (Hubbell & Hudson and Cureight) took home the first place truffle trophy as well as one kilogram of fresh black truffles. The night was filled with decadent tastes and sips and set in the elegant lighting of the Astorian event space.

The potato leek and truffle pierogi with creme fraiche and chive from chef Ryan Lachaine of Riel was the People’s Choice Winner for the night. -
Central Market showed well with a truffle gelato on top of a truffled doughnut. -
Second place winner, the “Ho Chee Boon” from Yauatcha. Guayaquil chocolate, caramelized truffled honey panna cotta, zephyr carmal cremiux. -

The fourth annual Truffle Masters competition was held at the Astorian.
