Grateful Dane Distilling Co. finally opened its tasting room on June 3 and provided tours showcasing a centuries-old technique to guests. Founder and owner Ian Mook visited Puerto Rico and toured one of the world’s largest rum distilleries. He was inspired to create a new distillery in Houston that better connected the process and the people. After a bit of research and experimentation, he’s developed a quality spirit that’s Houston born and Houston proud. All photos by Doogie Roux.
