In honor of Father’s Day, Rodeo Goat is bringing back the epic “Dad Bod Burger,” available June 12-July 9. The hefty 44 Farms burger comes topped with a fried macaroni and cheese patty, applewood smoked bacon, candied jalapeños, Fresno aioli, arugula and pickles, and drizzled with Rodeo Goat’s signature queso. Get it for $14 while you can.
Little Rey, 2345 Mid Lane, has unveiled its June taco special: this time, a collaboration with Blood Bros. BBQ’s Quy Hoang. The pitmaster’s pulled pork jerk taco with mango slaw will be served at Little Rey all month long, with proceeds from each taco sold donated to Southern Smoke.
Aya Sushi, 5407 Bellaire, is hosting a National Sushi Day Pairing Dinner on Wednesday, June 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. (doors open at 5:45). Enjoy a 12-bite tasting menu curated by chef Yoshi Katsuyama paired with different sake, presented by sommelier Chris Melton. Tickets are $126 per person and seating is limited.
On Wednesday, June 18 from 6 to 9 p.m., guests are invited to a Diageo Scotch Tasting Dinner at Prime 131, 2505 West 11th. Journey from the Highlands to the Islands with a curated six-course Scotch Dinner featuring a globally inspired menu using live-fire cooking techniques. Highlights include Smoked Sawara Nigiri, Miso-Marinated Black Cod and Smoked Prime Tenderloin—each expertly paired with cocktails such as the Oban Highland Plane and Lagavulin Islay Old Fashioned. Tickets are $150 per person via OpenTable.
On Saturday, June 21, Chapman & Kirby, 2118 Lamar, invites folks to its Pride Queen Brunch. Doors open at 11:45 a.m. and the show begins at 12:30. Cost is $35 per person, which includes the show and access to the brunch buffet. Fun craft cocktails, mimosa flights and bottle service will also be available for purchase.
